Australian Shepherd Rescue Organizations in the United States

As Australian Shepherds make for such friendly and lovable pets, there exists quite a number of Australian Shepherd rescue organizations scattered around the United States whose mission and vision include placing abused or abandoned Australian Shepherds to new homes.

One of the most popular ones is the Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline, Inc. (ARPH). It is a not-for-profit organization that is comprised of volunteers dedicated solely to helping the Australian Shepherd breed. Its main mission is to rescue Australian Shepherds and find a new permanent home for them. One of its more important goals is to educate the public and build awareness about owning, training and raising an Australian Shepherds. Because of its relevance among the dog lovers’ community, what started as an organization run by three persistent individuals in 1992 has now become an organization with more than 900 members throughout the United States and Canada. Their rescue efforts are largely supported by donations from the Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) as well as its affiliate clubs and other Australian Shepherd groups and organizations.

There are other popular Australian Shepherd rescue organizations in the United States which serve the same purpose as Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline, Inc. (ARPH). Not only do they help rescue Australian Shepherds, they also share the same goals in finding permanent homes for these dogs and building awareness.
